Privacy Notice

This notice explains how we handle the personal data of membership applicants, members of Bridžový klub Praha and participants in our bridge courses.

Who processes your data?

What data do we process?

Depending on the type of application and your relationship with the club, we process:

• your first name and surname, contact email address and phone number;

• for members, your year of birth and Czech Bridge Federation registration number, if applicable;

• information about membership, course attendance, payments and related correspondence.

Required information is marked in the relevant form. We need it to process your application and administer your membership or participation in a course. You provide any other information voluntarily.

Why do we need your data?

We use your data to process applications, maintain membership records, organise courses, keep payment records and communicate with you about your membership or course.

Processing necessary for your application, membership and participation in a course is based on the performance of a contract and steps taken before entering into it. We process accounting information and other legally required data to comply with our legal obligations. We retain records necessary to establish and protect the club's rights on the basis of our legitimate interests.

If we wish to use your data for another purpose that requires your consent, we will ask for it separately.

Who has access to your data?

Authorised persons responsible for running the club, maintaining membership records and organising courses have access to your data to the extent necessary for their work. We also use technical service providers to operate our website and forms, handle electronic communications and store data.

When arranging registration or membership with the Czech Bridge Federation, we provide the Federation with the necessary data. We disclose data to public authorities where required by law.

We do not make our membership records or course participants' contact lists publicly available.

How long do we keep your data?

We retain the contact details of participants in courses and subsequent club tournaments for as long as they continue to participate in these activities.

We retain tournament results, including players' names, on a long-term basis as a record of the club's sporting activities.

We maintain membership records for the duration of membership. Failure to pay a membership fee does not necessarily mean that membership has ended.

We retain accounting documents for the periods required by law. Records necessary to protect the club's rights are retained for the applicable limitation periods or, where relevant, until the related dispute has been resolved. Once there is no longer a reason to retain the data, we delete or anonymise it.

What are your rights?

You may request access to your data, its correction or erasure, or restriction of processing. Subject to the conditions laid down by law, you also have the right to data portability and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests.

Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew your consent.

Erasure may not be possible where we still need the data to comply with legal obligations or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
